24-Year-Old Shot in Westlake Area

Los Angeles:  A 24-year-old man, Jose Sosa, was shot in the stomach near Westlake Avenue, south of 3rd Street.  He died at the scene after paramedics were unable to revive him.
The shooting followed an argument between Sosa and another man on July 3, 2005, at around 2:15 in the morning.  The man seen arguing with Sosa was described as a Hispanic man, with a blond, fade haircut.  He was 5’ 6” tall and 130 to 150 pounds.  The suspect is 20 to 25 years old.  Officers found a gun at the scene.
Rampart detectives are investigating the murder.  The motive for the shooting is not known.
