Los Angeles: On Monday, December 1, 2003, at 2:00 p.m, Van Nuys Homicide Detectives will hold a press conference asking for the public’s assistance in solving the murder of Naguib Girgis Sadek that occurred on May 18, 2001. As of today, no witnesses have been identified and the City Council has approved a $25,000 reward for information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder.
A picture of the victim and his immediate family members will be present and available for the media.
On Friday, May 18, 2001, at about 1:48 p.m., Van Nuys patrol officers responded to an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon” radio call in the 7200 block of Lennox. Upon arrival, officers found the victim shot inside the parking lot of the apartment complex where he resided. The victim, 43-year-old Naguib Girgis Sadek, a resident of Van Nuys, had been shot once in the upper torso. Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Mr. Sadek dead at the scene. The motive is unknown.
