Los Angeles: South Bureau Homicide Detectives are investigating the killing of a 26-year old man in South Los Angeles.
On Thursday, November 7, 2008, at around 2 p.m., the victim, Jon Davis, was standing in a parking lot at 4620 West Adams Boulevard. A light colored vehicle drove northbound on West Boulevard and stopped near the victim. The front passenger exited the vehicle, armed with a blue steel pistol, ran towards the victim, and fired multiple gunshots. Davis was struck by gunfire and ran into the liquor store, where he collapsed. The gunman ran back to the waiting vehicle and fled the scene.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he died a short time later.
The motive for the shooting is unknown.
