Los Angeles: Last night, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Hollywood Homicide detectives arrested a suspect who is believed to be responsible for the death of a 21-year-old woman.
On May 8, 2010, around 10:50 p.m., officers from Hollywood Patrol Division responded to a radio call of an “Overdose” that occurred in the 1300 block of North Sycamore Avenue. Paramedics from the Los Angeles City Fire Department transported 21-year-old Meagan E. Ryan, a resident of Los Angeles, to a local hospital. Shortly after her arrival at the hospital she was pronounced dead. An initial investigation revealed that the victim had been smoking and injecting ‘heroin’ with several other people.
Investigators returned to the 1300 block of North Sycamore Avenue, the residence of 26-year old Stephen Allbritton. Investigators established probable cause to believe that Allbritton had injected Ryan with heroin at her request and that the heroin overdose was the proximate cause of her death.
Allbritton was arrested without incident. He was booked for Involuntary Manslaughter, California Penal Code Section 192 (B). He is being held at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Jail in lieu of $62,500 bail.
