WHY:
Prior to the scheduled security summit, a news conference will be held for the media. Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, media will not be allowed to attend the summit.
The focus of this summit is to explain the changing landscape and identify some of the challenges facing today’s security environment, specifically in the school and public transportation arenas. It intends to further the partnerships between the law enforcement and private sector.
What can be done to off-set some of these challenges; What, if any, role does the media play in terms of minimizing and/or accentuating these challenges; What is the role of private security and how has/can law enforcement leverage private security in addressing these challenges; What can we expect, in terms of the threat, as we move forward and are law enforcement and private sector positioned to adapt to this evolving threat.
