WHY:
On September 30th, 2023, around 12:05 a.m., an unknown vehicle traveling south on Normandie Avenue at a high rate of speed, struck and killed a pedestrian near West 83rd Street. The suspect vehicle fled southbound on Normandie Avenue without stopping or rendering aid to the victim. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased due to injuries sustained from the collision. The victim was later identified as Hardgraves, Kyesha.

The Los Angeles Police Department, South Traffic Detectives are handling the investigation and requesting the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect and vehicle responsible for this tragic death. A $50,000 reward is being offered by the City of Los Angeles for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. Detectives will also release photos of the suspect and the collision captured on video.
