WHY: On August 4th, 2019, Veronica Hernandez, the mother of six children, was collecting recyclables from a recycling container on Alondra Boulevard west of Orchard Avenue. Veronica, who was temporarily homeless, was struck by a vehicle driving eastbound on Alondra Boulevard traveling at a high rate of speed. After the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene without providing aid or identifying him/herself, as required by law.
Unfortunately, 45-year-old Veronica Hernandez succumbed to her injuries.
This press conference is being scheduled to release video of the suspect’s vehicle and announce the $50,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person driving the vehicle. The reward may convince a reluctant family member or person close to him or her to come forward and provide information that will result in the location and arrest.
