Los Angeles: Detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate and identify the driver of a mid-sized sports utility vehicle who struck and killed a woman walking across the street.
On Friday, August 31, 2012, at 5:35 a.m., a driver in a dark color medium sized sports utility vehicle travelling southbound on Western Avenue struck the victim who was walking westbound in the crosswalk from 85th street. The driver failed to stop to render aid or identify themselves as required by law.
The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital where she died within the hour of the collision. Her name has not been released pending notifications to her family.
