A Police Officer Arrested by Upland Police Department NR23168dm

Upland: The Los Angeles Police Department is aware of the criminal case involving Police Officer Arthur Contreras. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division initiated an administrative investigation, which is being conducted simultaneously with the pending criminal case.

On June 21, 2023, the Upland Police Department arrested Contreras for California Penal Code Section 245 – Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Contreras is out of custody and is currently on administrative leave.

Contreras has been employed by the Los Angeles Police Department for about 28 years and is assigned to Detective Support and Vice Division.

The Department is fully cooperating with the District Attorney’s Office and the Upland Police Department’s investigation relating to Contreras’ alleged criminal conduct.
