Opens https://lacity.gov/directory in a new window.Los Angeles: Earlier today, at around 5:05 a.m., Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the 13000 block of N. Glenoaks Avenue for a structure fire. Also, generated during this time was a radio call of shots fired in the same hundred block of Glenoaks Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department addressed the structure fire and during this discovered a deceased female in the pool. A male and a dog were also discovered deceased in the rubble of the fire.
Los Angeles Police Department Valley Bureau Homicide as well as Mission Division patrol officers discovered thousands of rounds of ammunition and multiple firearms, what was believed to be a ballistic ordinance in the location. The Los Angeles Police Department Bomb Squad responded and insured the ordinance was rendered safe. The Gang and Narcotics Division Gun Unit responded to process the thousands of rounds of ammunition and firearms, while the Metropolitan Division Dive Team responded to recover the deceased female from the pool.
The investigation is ongoing, and still preliminary. How this incident occurred is still unclear. Updates will be provided as they become available.
