Mission: The Los Angeles Police Department Valley Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) who killed a 27-year-old male Hispanic, a resident of North Hills.
On June 21, 2017, around 3 p.m., Mission Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of an, “ADW Shooting”, in the 7900 block of Van Nuys Boulevard,” in the city of Van Nuys.
Upon arrival, the officers saw the victim laying on the ground next to a bicycle in the entrance parking lot of a local restaurant. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
OVB Homicide Detectives responded and conducted an investigation. It appeared as if the victim was possibly riding or next to his bicycle when the shooting occurred. There were no witnesses at the time of the shooting.
Identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
There is no suspect(s) description. It is possible the shooting is gang related.
