Announce $50,000 Reward for Information on a Murder NR20199jc

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 55-year-old James Chambers. The Los Angeles City Council is offering a $50,000 reward for any information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the suspect(s).

On November 9, 2019, around 12 a.m., Mr. Chambers was standing in the 1700 block of West 24th Street when he was shot by a lone suspect. The suspect ran toward Mr. Chambers from behind a tree and shot him. The suspect was last seen fleeing south bound on Congress Avenue from 24th Street.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene, provided medical treatment to Mr. Chambers but, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The suspect is described as a male.
