Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Newton Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) who killed 28-year-old Donte Jones.
On February 15, 2019, around 9:58 p.m., Newton Division officers received a radio call of an “Ambulance Shooting”, in the 4100 block of South Wall Street, in the City of Los Angeles. When officers arrived, they met with a second victim who advised she was sitting in Jones vehicle and he was sitting in the driver’s seat. Several gunshots were fired into the vehicle by unknown suspect(s) and Jones was struck by gunfire. She was not struck by the gunfire and called 911 as she noticed Jones was suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspect(s) left the scene in an unknown direction.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to render aid to Jones and transported him to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
There is no suspect description at this time.
The Los Angeles City Council approved a $50,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Donte Jones.
