LAPD South Traffic Division detectives will be announcing the arrest of the suspect from the Christmas Day Street Takeover fatal hit and run.

WHY:
On December 25, 2022, around 9:05 p.m., the victim was standing on the northwest sidewalk of Crenshaw Boulevard and Florence Avenue observing a street takeover, when a Chevy Camaro performing the illegal “donuts” maneuver in the middle of the intersection, lose control, and veered into a crowd of spectators, killing the victim and injuring several others. The suspect abandoned his disabled vehicle and fled in another vehicle, failing to stop or render aid.

Police are still searching for additional suspects driving the two additional vehicles performing “donuts” during and after the fatal collision.

LAPD South Traffic Division detectives will provide an update on the status of the case.
