Arrest Made in Celebrity and High-End Home
Burglaries and the Recovery of Over 2,000 Items
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles
Police Department’s Hollywood Area burglary detectives have
arrested 32-year-old Benjamin Eitan Ackerman in connection with a
series of celebrity and high-end home burglaries.
On July, 22, 2018, detectives became aware of a residential
burglary of a multi-million-dollar home that was listed for sale,
where numerous high value items, including, jewelry, artwork, wine,
clothing, and handbags had been stolen.
Detectives received a lead on a person of interest, Benjamin Eitan
Ackerman. He posed as a realtor and later as a home buyer several
weeks prior to the burglary. The suspect has signed the open house
ledger in several cases prior to the homes being burglarized using
a variation of his name. The suspect has also been known to claim
that he works for an investment firm, which was confirmed as
false.
On September 20, 2018,
detectives served a search warrant at Benjamin Eitan Ackerman’s
residence and storage unit, which resulted in the arrest of
Benjamin Eitan Ackerman and the recovery of over 2,000 items.
Benjamin Eitan Ackerman was in possession of stolen property that
has been confirmed and identified by 13 different victims.
Detectives believe Benjamin Eitan Ackerman has been engaged in
criminal activity for the past several years. The suspect mainly
targets high value homes and celebrity homes, however, one of the
victims turned out to be a family friend.
After the long process of inventorying the large amount of items,
detectives are now seeking the assistance of the community to
identify any additional victims whose stolen property we may now be
in possession of.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone that has purchased any
items including, but not limited to artwork, jewelry, handbags,
clothing, shoes, etc., from Benjamin Eitan Ackerman or done
business with him, in the Southern California area as well as
anywhere in the United States, as detectives have discovered
evidence that the suspect travels to places like New York.
Detectives are still in the process of identifying all Benjamin
Eitan Ackerman’s co-conspirators.
