UPDATE
On September 1, 2022, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges on Rubi Anguiano-Salazar; Murder and Firearms Possession, along with Attempt Murder for the 77th Street incident that occurred on May 21, 2022. They filed Murder on Raymundo Hernandez, and have requested further investigation related to the case as it relates to Blas Canche.
Los Angeles: On Tuesday, August 30, 2022, the LAPD/ U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Taskforce made an arrest of two of the three persons connected in the murder of Gerold Lipeles. Lipeles was 69 years old, a double-amputee, and wheelchair-bound.
On May 17, 2022, Gerold Lipeles was asleep in his wheelchair outside a restaurant located on the 1700 block of West Century Boulevard when a female shooter walked up to him shooting and killing him.
Raymundo Hernandez, of Los Angeles, 34 years old, and Blas Canche, of Los Angeles, 32 years old, were arrested and booked for 187(a) PC Murder. A third identified person, Rubi Anguiano-Salazar, of Los Angeles, 37 years old, was already in Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department custody on an unrelated charge. She was re-arrested for 187 (a) PC Murder
77th Street Area detectives were also able to connect Rubi Anguiano-Salazar to an attempted murder that occurred on May 21, 2022. During this attempted murder, the suspect approached Stella Polly, a female black, 67 years of age, who was seated at the bus stop located in front of 1606 West Manchester Avenue. Stella Polly was experiencing homelessness at the time. After the suspect initiated a conversation, Stella Polly walked away. The female suspect shot her in the back as she walked away.
Both cases were presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration on Thursday, September 1, 2022.
