Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Area are investigating a hate crime which occurred in MacArthur Park.
On October 4, 2020, around 9:00 p.m., a transgender female victim was in MacArthur Park when she was approached by a group of three Hispanic suspects, two males and one female, 18-25 years of age. One of the suspects stated, “We don’t want gays here!” The suspects surrounded the victim and proceeded to stab her multiple times. The suspects fled the area in a white Honda sedan. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
Detectives are actively working this investigation and canvassing the area for witnesses and evidence. Due to the statement made to the victim, this is being investigated as a hate crime.
