Police Department’s Wilshire Area detectives are seeking the
public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an
“Assault with a Deadly Weapon” incident.
On Friday, October 20, 2017, around 8:00 a.m., a community member
was assaulted near the 800 block of North La Brea Avenue. The
suspect approached the elderly victim from behind and struck him in
the face with a backpack without any provocation. The victim fell
onto the ground from the impact, sustaining serious injuries.
The suspect is described as a male White, or possible Asian, in his
20’s with a mustache and goatee. He stands around 5 foot 8 inches
tall and weighs approximately 150 to 170 pounds. He was last seen
wearing a dark beanie, gray sweatshirt, dark pants carrying a dark
backpack.
