Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is asking for the public’s help in identifying a burglar who was caught on surveillance video in the West Valley area.
The surveillance video depicts an attempt burglary in the neighborhood of Wells Drive and Oakdale Avenue on January 31, 2011, at around 10:30 a.m. The suspect is described as a male black wearing a white jacket with lettering on the back. He was seen driving a dark blue sports utility vehicle and it appears that he is working alone.
The suspect parked the vehicle down the street from the residence, went to the front gate, rang the bell and looked over the fence. After no one answered the door, he climbed over a wall to the side of the home and onto the victim’s property. He apparently walked around the outside of the residence and at one point opened a side gate. For an unknown reason, the suspect was spooked and left the residence before he could make entry.
When the victim returned home, she found the gate opened and decided to check her surveillance system, there she saw the suspect on her property.
