$15,000 Reward Offered

Updated: Los Angeles City Councilmembers Tom LaBonge and Paul Koretz have approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identity, arrest and prosecution of the suspect responsible for the Robberies. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has also offered a $5,000 reward.

Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery Homicide Division Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a serial bank robber responsible for several robberies in and around the city of Los Angeles from October 20, 2012 until July 21, 2014.  During the course of the investigations detectives were able to obtain video surveillance which captures the suspect’s face and additional images.

The female bank robber described below struck again on March 27, 2014, at a Bank of America in the 400 block of N. La Brea Avenue.  Now nicknamed the “Purse-Packing Bandit,” she has once again been captured on surveillance video, and detectives are releasing a new, better-quality photo of her with this release.  In the most recent incident, the suspect brandished a revolver, and detectives are still very much interested in hearing from anyone who may have information about the case.

 

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department Robbery Homicide Division Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a bank robbery suspect caught on surveillance video.  The suspect has been linked to five additional bank robberies and is considered armed and dangerous.

On January 28, 2014, around 5:10 p.m., the suspect entered a bank located in the 100 block of North La Cienega Boulevard, in the West Los Angeles area.  The suspect approached a teller and presented a hand written demand note.  The suspect then pointed a handgun at the teller and demanded money.  The suspect exited the bank with the money and left the location in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a female Black, between 35 to 40-years-old, stands between 5 feet 2 inches tall or 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs around 120 to 140 pounds.  In the photo below, the suspect was wearing a long wig and sunglasses.  Surveillance footage of the robbery is available at www.lapdonline.org.
