Battery and Petty Theft Suspects at Large
The purpose of this update is to correct the suspect’s description in this case. The suspects were originally reported to be male African American, after further investigation and interviews it is believed that the suspects are actually male Hispanic.
Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Hollywood Area detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information about the two battery and petty theft suspects.
On Sunday, June 16, 2013, around 3:30 p.m., two men walked into a Petco store located in the 7200 block of Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood and inquired about pet adoption. The suspect then removed two spotted Chihuahuas from their cages and attempted to leave the store. An employee of the store confronted the men in an attempt to stop them from taking the dogs and was punched in the head by one of the suspects. Both suspects then fled the location.
The first suspect is described as a male 25 to 30-year-old African-American with black hair and brown eyes. He stands around 5 feet 9 inches and weighs about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, black pants and white shoes.
The second suspect is described as a 38 to 40-year-old African-American with black hair and brown eyes. He stands around 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs around 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts and white shoes. He was also described as having rotten teeth.
