Los Angeles: Domestic Violence is a crime that affects our entire society. The LAPD and police departments throughout the United States answer family violence calls every day and the effects destroy not only family values, but community relationships as well.
Since 2001, Verizon Corporation has been committed to fighting Domestic Violence by creating awareness through campaigns via social media. Recently, the communications company announced a campaign committed to raising crucial funds by posting social media messages to stop the silence of family violence and assuring victims that they are not alone.
Verizon Wireless recently announced that they are generously donating $3.00 every time a message of hope or inspiration is posted on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, providing encouragement to the victims of Domestic Violence. The campaign is aptly titled, “Because Voices Have Power.” Here’s how to post a message:
• Go to the “Current Status” line (on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter)
• Type “#VoicesHavePower”
• Type Message
• ENTER/Post Message
The Los Angeles Police Department encourages the public to be involved in the community campaign against Domestic Violence and vigilantly responds to incidents of family violence through the successful and innovative DART program throughout the city of Los Angeles.
