"Bicyclist Killed by a Hit-And-Run Driver"

Los Angeles – On Friday, August 4, 2000, at approximately 12:05 A.M., a black or dark colored SUV traveling westbound on Imperial Highway collided with a 61 year old male, black riding his bike northbound on Avalon Boulevard attempting to cross Imperial Highway.

The SUV collided with the victim, knocking him from his bicycle onto the pavement. The driver of the SUV continued to drive westbound on Imperial Highway and fled the scene of the accident.

After the collision, the victim was transported to Martin Luther King-Drew Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 A.M.

The victim’s identity has been withheld until notification has been made to the next of kin.
