On Sunday, November 30, 2008 at about 12:00 a.m., Morales was attending a birthday party in the 12900 block of Glenoaks Boulevard. Officers responded to a radio call of reported gunfire at the location. When they arrived they found Morales in the backyard, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives believe that there were nearly one hundred people who were at the party when the gunfire broke out. All of the witnesses had left the location before police arrived.
