Opens https://lacity.gov/directory in a new window.Van Nuys: On Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, around 1:30 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department, Van Nuys Area police officers responded to a radio call of a citizen holding a 459 (Burglary) Suspect in the 14700 block of Ostego St. The suspect, later identified as 43-year-old Joshua Batt was taken into custody without incident by responding officers.
The officer’s investigation revealed Batt forced entry into the residence through a side door, ransacked the residence, and was arrested while in possession of property he took from the residence. Batt was identified as an inter-state parolee wearing a GPS tracker. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Division of Adult Parole, was notified and placed a parole hold on Batt.
Van Nuys Burglary detectives responded to the scene to provide investigative oversight and interviewed Batt. He was booked for 459 PC, Burglary.
