West Los Angeles: Detectives
from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Los Angeles Area are
asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a serial burglary
suspect responsible for at least seven residential and auto
burglaries.
From September 18, 2017, through September 26, 2017, detectives
received video surveillance footage of a burglary suspect, wearing
a ski mask. The suspect would disable cameras and force entry into
apartment buildings. He could also be seen entering subterranean
garages and breaking into parked vehicles.
On October 12, 2017, around 2:15 a.m., video surveillance captured
the suspect as he attempted to gain entry to an apartment building
in the 11600 block of Montana Avenue. The suspect had not yet
donned his usual ski-mask and hoody. The suspect then crossed the
street and burglarized an apartment building in the same
block.
The
suspect is described as a male black, 40-50 years old, with a
greying beard. He stands approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and
weighs over 200 pounds. He was seen wearing a dark Nike Pro
Balaclava, a dark hoody sweatshirt over a white t-shirt, and red
New Balance shoes.
