On Tuesday evening, March 3, 2009, Southwest Detectives located the missing children and took them into protective custody near the San Diego/Tijuana Border. The children were in good condition are expected to be reunited with their mother. The investigation is ongoing.
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the public’s help in assisting detectives in locating three missing children.
Monday, March 2, 2009, at around 9:00 p.m., Gustavo Carreon Sr., 37, arrived at the residence of his estranged wife located in the 1200 block of West 39th Street. Carreon is the biological father of the two younger children, but not that of the oldest child and has not had any contact with the children in over a year. Carreon took the children while they were in the care of a family friend, saying that he was going to take them to a local store. Carreon did not return as he said he would and hasn’t been seen since.
The suspect, Gustavo Carreon Sr., is described as a male, Hispanic, 5’4” tall, black hair, brown eyes and weighs about 175 pounds. Carreon was last seen driving a 1991 Volkswagen Jetta, 4 door, grey in color with Mexican license plates. It is believed that the suspect has taken the children to Tijuana, Mexico.
The children are, 8 year-old, Brian Moreno, male, Hispanic, black hair, brown eyes, 3’10” tall weighs 110. 4 year-old, Gustavo Carreon Jr., 3’0” tall, weighs 36 pounds and 2 year-old, Edwin Carreon, 2’0” tall, weighs 36 pounds.
