Child Abduction Alert

July 11, 2003

The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the Media provide the public with the following information to assist Law Enforcement efforts in locating a missing child.
On Thursday, July 10 2003, at 6:45 p.m., the missing child was with his grandmother, who is also his legal guardian, at their residence located in the 8900 block of Haskell Avenue. The child’s mother, who has not had custody of him or his sibling for two years, came to the residence unexpectedly. The child’s mother and grandmother became involved in an argument and the mother takes the child and leaves the location. The mother and child were seen leaving in what is described only as a possible white car. The mother is a known narcotic and alcohol abuser and was believed to be under the influence of alcohol when she left with the child. The mother’s residence is unknown and it is unknown where the child has been taken.
The mother is identified as Rebecca Fundingsland, female White, 38 years of age, blond hair, blue eyes, 5’ 7" and 115 pounds. She has a thin build, light complexion and was wearing an orange dress. Due to the mother’s drug and alcohol abuse and her residence address being unknown, it is believed the child’s safety is in jeopardy.
The missing child is identified as Sage Fundingsland, male White, 4 years of age, brown hair, green eyes, 4’ tall, 40/45 pounds, thin build and medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue/red/light blue shirt, blue denim shorts and brown shoes.
Pictures of the mother and child are available at the Devonshire Community Police Station, 10250 Etiwanda Avenue, Northridge. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the mother and child is asked to call 818-756-8285.
