The children have been located and reunited with family.
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Mission Division detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 9-year-old Avaora Kolomoeits and her 7-year-old brother, Hrant Kolomoeits.
On April 8, 2025, around 11:00 a.m., both children were last seen at their elementary school located in the 13000 block of Hubbard Street in Sylmar. The children were picked up from school by their biological father, 39-year-old Rodion Kolomoeits, who recently lost custody of the children. Mr. Kolomoeits is believed to be driving a 2016 gray Toyota Prius, license plate #9PKY966. The vehicle was last seen crossing the border at San Ysidro into Mexico yesterday, April 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
Avaora Kolomoeits is described as a 9-year-old female, White, with brown hair and blue eyes. She stands 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 75 pounds. Avaora was wearing a blue shirt and black pants. Her primary language is Russian.
Hrant Kolomoeits is described as a 7-year-old male, White, with brown hair and blue eyes. He stands 4 feet tall and weighs approximately 50 pounds. Hrant was wearing a green and blue sweater and black pants. His primary language is Russian.
The suspect, Rodion Kolomoeits, is described as a 39-year-old male, White, with brown hair and gray eyes. He stands 5 feet 11 inches tall. The suspect is a Ukrainian national and is believed to be making efforts to return to Ukraine with the children.
