Kelly Funes was located in good condition on December 14, 2010.
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) West Valley Division is asking for the public’s help to locate Kelly Funes who has been taken from school by her biological mother.
On Friday, November 5, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. Kelly Funes was dropped off by her foster parent at Cantara Elementary School, in the Reseda area. At around 5:30 p.m., prior to the arrival of the foster parent, Kelly was picked up at school by Crystabel Funes who is her biological mother. Funes apparently forged the foster parent’s signature and took the child from the school.
Kelly Funes is described as a 6-year-old female Hispanic, with brown hair. She has brown eyes, stands 3 feet tall, and weighs around 45 pounds. She was last seen wearing a school uniform that includes navy blue pants, a white shirt and black headband. Kelly was also carrying a black and pink “Barbie” backpack.
Crystabel Funes (suspect) is described as a 29-year-old female Hispanic, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a royal blue shirt, blue jeans skirt, with sunglasses and her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. She is known to frequent the areas of Van Nuys and Reseda in the City of Los Angeles.
