"Child Abduction Regional Emergency Alert Issued"
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the assistance of the media in providing the public with the following information to assist law enforcement efforts in locating a 2 year-old child abducted by 16 year-old Erika Miller.
On July 18, 2003 at about 6:00 p.m., Miller went to the child’s aunts residence located in the 8200 block of South Western Avenue. Miller told the aunt that the child’s mother had given her permission to take the child over night and that she would return the child the next morning. The aunt believed Miller and allowed her to take the child.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Miller is a friend of the missing child’s family and that she was never given permission to take the child. On July 19, 2003, the aunt advised the child’s mother that the suspect had not returned with the child and the police were notified.
On July 19, 2003, a friend of family received a call from Miller, who advised her that she was enroute to Arizona with the child by train.
The missing child is described as follows: 2 year-old Anthanija Wooley. She is a female Black, with black hair, brown eyes, 2 feet, 35 pounds. She has a chunky build and medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a white tank top, light blue jeans and black sandals.
The suspect is described as follows: 16 year-old Erika Miller. She is a female Black, with black hair, brown eyes, 5’3" tall; weighing 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue skirt and black shoes. She has amber Braids and wears hazel contacts. Miller is a friend of the family. It is believed that the suspect is possibly enroute to Arizona with the child.
