The City of Los Angeles has continued to conduct tests on all of its departments’ critical functions following the Y2K rollover. As of 11:00 a.m., January 3, 2000, all City departments have reported that the first work day of the new millennium has began without any Y2K disruptions to City services or systems.
At the direction of Deputy Chief Martin Pomeroy, the acting Chair of the City’s Emergency Operations Board, effective 12:00 p.m., January 3, 2000, the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the Police Department Operations Center (DOC) will be deactivated. All facets of City government will continue normal operations.
