Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is asking for the public’s help for information leading to the identification and arrest of a burglary crew targeting Koreatown businesses.
On September 20, 2009 at around 11:45 p.m., three suspects forced their way into a commercial building in the 3500 block of West Olympic Boulevard. The burglary crew then used pry tools to break into individual office suites. Once inside, the suspects ransacked the offices and made off with small hand held valuables including cash, jewelry and laptop computers.
Cameras caught some of the activity, including the suspects trying to avoid identification by covering their faces, wearing ‘hoodies’ or goggles, and blocking the cameras view by taping paper over the lens.
Suspect #1 is a female Korean about 14 to 17 years old, with black hair, wearing gray tank top, dark colored pants. She is about 5 feet to 5 feet 4 inches tall, 100 to 115 pounds.
Suspect #2 is a female Black about 14 to 17 years old, with black hair, wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black canvas shoes. She is about 5 feet to 5 feet 4 inches tall, about 100 to 120 pounds.
Suspect #3 three is a male Korean or Hispanic, between 14 to 17 years of age. He has black hair and was wearing a white t-shirt. He is about 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall, about 115 to 150 pounds.
Business owners are encouraged to review their security plans and to keep money and other valuables in safes or secured locations and out of public view. Employees can also help by keeping an eye out for suspicious persons and report anyone who could be "casing" the business.
