Los Angeles: On December 13, 2002, at approximately 12:55 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a radio call "ADW, Shots Fired" in the 8400 block of Sunland Boulevard. At the scene, the officers observed the victim inside of a 1998 GMC Sport Utility Vehicle.
The preliminary investigation revealed that unidentified suspects(s) had fired several rounds from a firearm into the passenger side of victim Marco Chacon’s vehicle. Chacon is a 22 year-old resident of Panorama City. The actual shooting occurred a short distance away where Chacon had parked his vehicle behind a gas station. Immediately after being shot, Chacon accelerated his vehicle and was able to drive a short a distance before crashing into a nearby restaurant.
Detectives have not located any eyewitnesses to the actual shooting, nor have they defined a motive for the occurrence.
