Detectives Investigate Fatal Stabbing

Los Angeles: Central Area Homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a 48 year-old male, Black.
On Saturday, April 19, 2003 at approximately 10:40 p.m., Central Area officers responded to a radio call of a "Ambulance Cutting" in the 400 block of East 5th Street. Upon arrival, Central officers were directed by security to a hotel room located in the above area. Officers entered the room and found a male Black bleeding profusely from a single stab wound to his neck area. According to hotel security the victim entered the hotel covered with blood. The victim entered his room and collapsed on a bed. Los Angeles Police Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital.
On April 20, 2003 the victim was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
The officers preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been involved in a dispute.
The victim’s identity has been established, but is being withheld pending notification of the family. The motive is unknown at this time.
