Detectives Investigate Fatal Stabbing

Los Angeles: On Saturday, December 14, 2002, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Maria De La Luz Pintor, a female Hispanic 59-years of age was stabbed to death at a laundromat located in the 900 block of Forest Avenue. Detectives determined that Juan Pintor Vega, the victim’s husband, had stabbed the victim in the upper torso with a knife. Vega then attempted to kill himself by slashing his throat. Vega’s injury was not life threatening and he was transported by the Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics to a local hospital. Detectives arrested Vega for 187 P.C. Murder.
The motive for the stabbing is unknown.
