"Detectives Investigate Multiple Shootings; One Dead"
Los Angeles: On Friday, December 12, 2003, at about 9:00 p.m., the victims, 23 year-old Orlando Cabrera, a 19 year-old male Hispanic, a 22 year-old male Hispanic and an 18 year-old male Hispanic, were standing on the sidewalk in front of a residence located in the 600 block of West 74th Street. Unidentified suspect(s) drove up in a blue late 80’s/early 90’s, Honda Civic, 4-door, with tinted windows. The suspect(s) exited their vehicle and for no apparent reason began shooting at the victims. Orlando Cabrera sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and died at the scene. The 19 year-old male sustained a single gunshot wound to his groin area, the 22 year-old male sustained a wound to his right ankle and the 18 year-old male sustained a wound to his left knee.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported all the victims to a local hospital.
The suspect(s) were last seen driving east on 74th Street at a high rate of speed toward Figueroa Street.
The motive and the suspect(s) identity are unknown.
