"Given the nature the circumstances of how King made contact with his last known victim, our detectives believe there could be more victims," said LAPD spokesman Sergeant Lee Sands. "We are encouraging any woman who recognizes King, and has had any questionable interaction with him, to come forward."
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office filed multiple counts of sexually related charges against King, who is suspected of assaulting a female driver during a traffic stop. The charges include the stipulation that he was acting under the color of authority, being a Los Angeles Unified School District police officer on duty at the time of the alleged assault. The victim in the incident was not a student of the school district.
Detectives from the Robbery Homicide Division (RHD) arrested King on May 3, 2007. He was booked at the Metropolitan Jail downtown. King later bailed out on a $250,000 bond.
King’s arraignment was set for May 24, 2007, at the downtown Los Angeles Superior Courthouse. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in state prison.
A photograph of King is available from Media Relations Section.
