Los Angeles: On May 8, 2003 at 8:40 p.m., police officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division responded to a radio call of shots fired at Vine Street and Yucca Street. Upon arrival, the officers saw a male Black who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim will not be released until after his relatives have been notified.
Witnesses indicated that two male Hispanics approached the victim and his friend on foot, as they crossed the street. Both suspects shot the victim multiple times and fled in a vehicle with two other occupants. The first suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 5’6’’– 5’8", 180 pounds, 18-20 years of age, short hair, wearing dark pants and a blue shirt. The second suspect is described as a male Hispanic, 6’0", thin, 18-19 years of age with short hair, wearing blue shorts and a white t-shirt. The vehicle is described as an unknown year Lincoln, Buick or Cadillac, four-door, white in color. The motive remains unknown.
