Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Area detectives are seeking additional victims of armed robberies in which the suspect used a social media marketplace to target his victims.

On April 11, 2024, LAPD Newton Area officers arrested Moses Valentino Solis, a resident of Los Angeles County, in connection with multiple armed robberies. Newton Robbery Detectives investigated crimes involving Solis posting a vehicle for sale through a social media marketplace. The victims responded to the ad, made arrangements with Solis to purchase the vehicle, and met at a given location on the street. Solis then robbed the victims at gunpoint of money and personal property.

Newton Robbery Detectives are releasing Solis’ photographs because there are additional unreported victims of Solis, and investigators are attempting to locate and interview any victims or witnesses.

The LAPD reminds community members to use caution when completing online transactions at a residence, curbside, or on the street. We recommend using your local police station to ensure a safe transaction.
