Double Fatal Traffic Collision in Tarzana NR15122dm

April 13, 2015

Los Angeles: Excessive speed appears to be the factor in the double fatality traffic collision on Reseda Boulevard at Collins Street. This is the second fatal motorcycle collision in three days within the San Fernando Valley.

On Sunday, April 12, 2015, around 10:50 p.m., a blue Yamaha motorcycle was traveling northbound on Reseda Boulevard, at a high rate of speed, when it collided with the driver’s side door of a silver Honda Accord. The Honda was traveling westbound on Collins Street, making a left turn onto southbound Reseda Boulevard. The motorcycle rider was ejected off the motorcycle and went through the driver’s window of the Honda, striking the driver.

Both motorists were pronounced dead at scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

The driver of the Honda was a 60-year-old female. Her name has not been released, pending notification to next of kin. The motorcycle rider was identified as Sergio Olaguez, a 30-year-old resident of Tarzana.
