Drive By Shooting Kills One NR11236cj

Los Angeles:  LAPD Harbor Homicide Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect(s) who shot and killed Los Angeles resident James Dominguez in a car to car drive by shooting.   

On May 18, 2011, at around 5:45 p.m., LAPD Harbor Area officers received a shooting call at Wilmington Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway.  Once at the scene they found a man slumped inside of a car unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds.   They also noticed that the car collided with a fire hydrant.   LAFD rescue personnel responded and transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The detectives’ investigation revealed that 25-year-old Dominguez was driving in his car northbound on Wilmington Boulevard approaching Pacific Coast Highway when a red car drove alongside him.  The suspect(s) in the red car pulled out a gun and shot numerous times into Dominguez’ car, striking him.  Dominguez’ car proceeded northbound through the intersection, and came to rest after colliding with a fire hydrant on the northwest corner of the intersection.   The suspect(s) drove away from the scene traveling south bound on Wilmington Blvd.  

The motive for the shooting is unknown.
