"Drive-by Shooting Results in the Death of a
Local College Basketball Player"
Los Angeles – On Sunday, December 10, 2000, at approximately 12:15 a.m., 19 year-old Kevin Marlo Bogle, and 18 year-old Terrence Lawson were stopped at a red light southbound on Crenshaw Boulevard at Stocker Street in a white 1991 Chevrolet Berretta. Unfortunately, an unknown suspect in an unidentified car drove up next to the Chevrolet Berretta and began shooting into the vehicle with a 9mm handgun. Bogle and Lawson were shot several times in the upper body. Bogle attempted to drive away but only managed to drive a few blocks away to the 4600 block of Crenshaw Boulevard before resting at the curb. Paramedics responded to the location; however, Bogle had succumbed to his injuries prior to their arrival. Lawson was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and is in critical but stable condition.
This incident is being investigated by Southwest Operations-support Division Homicide Detectives William Sera and Pete Razanskas. Anyone with information regarding this shooting is urged to contact Southwest Homicide Detectives at 213-485-2417.
