Opens https://lacity.gov/directory in a new window.Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division announced the arrest of Christopher Gibson, the suspect responsible for a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that resulted in the death of a 32-year-old man.
On November 07, 2023, around 1:10 a.m., Gibson was driving a 2011 Mazda 3 westbound Sunset Boulevard just east of Edgecliffe Drive when his vehicle collided with a pedestrian on a scooter. Gibson fled westbound Sunset Boulevard then southbound Lucile Avenue without stopping to render aid or identify himself.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died a short time later. The victim’s identity is being held, pending next-of-kin notification.
Gibson, a 31-year-old resident of Los Angeles, turned himself in to police and was subsequently arrested for 20001(A)VC – Felony Hit and Run. Gibson was booked at Metropolitan Detention Center, booking no. 6717460 with bail set at $100,000.
