Los Angeles: On Sunday, March 7, 2004, at about 3:10 a.m., the victims were driving eastbound on Cesar Chavez approaching State Street in their Ford Expedition. Unknown suspects pulled along the drivers side of the victims vehicle in an unknown type brown compact vehicle. The suspects for an unknown reason fired several rounds from two different weapons at the victims vehicle. The driver was struck multiple times in the upper torso. The suspects then left the location in an unknown direction. The victim continued to travel eastbound on Cesar Chavez to the 2100 block where he parked the vehicle. The two other occupants were not injured.
The Los Angeles City Fire Rescue Ambulance responded and provided treatment to the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims identity has not been released pending a Los Angeles County Coroners investigation.
