WHY: In 2017, the Department identified emerging E-Bike technology that could radically change how we police in an urban type environment.

In 2018, the Department will expand the pilot patrol E-bike program to 4 Divisions (Central, Hollywood, Pacific, and North Hollywood Division), with the purchase of 20 additional patrol E-bikes.

The 20 purchased E-bikes will give LAPD the biggest fleet of police E-bikes in the country.
