Canoga Park: On February 17, 2019, at 3:30 p.m., a 2011 Infiniti M37 was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on De Soto Ave at Plummer St when it collided with a 2003 Toyota Avalon. The Toyota Avalon was traveling northbound on De Soto Ave, making a left turn onto westbound Plummer St when the collision occurred.
Witnesses at scene indicated that there was also a gray sedan traveling southbound on De Soto Ave along with the Infiniti when the collision occurred.
The driver of the Avalon, a 72-year-old male and his front seat passenger, a 73-year-old female were pronounced dead at the scene. The rear passenger, a 9-year-old female was transported to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition. The names of the victims will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
The driver of the Infiniti, a 26-year-old male resident of Granada Hills was also transported to a local hospital with severe injuries.
This investigation is ongoing, and no arrest has been made.
