Winnetka: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit and run.
On August 1, 2017 at approximately 8:30 p.m., a black sedan, possibly BMW, with tinted windows and dark rims was traveling westbound Sherman Way at Oakdale Avenue.
The black sedan negotiated a left turn onto southbound Oakdale Avenue when it collided with a motorcyclist who was traveling eastbound Sherman Way. The collision caused the motorcyclist to travel in a southeast direction colliding with a vehicle that was parked eastbound Sherman Way, east of Oakdale Avenue along the south curb.
The driver of the black sedan stopped momentarily then left the scene without rendering aid to the victim who suffered major injuries.
The hit and run driver was described as a male, possibly Armenian or Hispanic in his late 20’s or early 30’s.
The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
