Los Angeles: The Los Angeles
Police Department West Traffic Area detectives are asking for the
public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the
identification of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision
that left 85-year-old Encarnacion Valiente dead.
On January 6, 2016, around 7:23 p.m, Ms. Valiente, was walking
across Olympic Blvd at Serrano Avenue. She was in a marked
crosswalk, when she was struck by a bus. The driver of the vehicle
failed to stop and render aid to the victim as required by
law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and
transported the victim to a local hospital. Despite lifesaving
efforts by medical personnel, Ms. Valiente died from her
injuries.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white tour bus with black
stripes on both sides. The bus also has tinted windows and the word
“Morongo” displayed on the bus.
Multiple witnesses stopped to help Ms. Valiente that day and
detectives are asking anyone who was in the area or who was on the
bus coming from Morongo Casino to come forward.
