Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, Central Traffic detectives are currently investigating a hit-and-run that left one person dead.
On October 28, 2013, around 5:50 a.m., a silver 4-door, 1996 thru 2000 Honda Civic DX was travelling southbound on Soto Street and Lancaster Street when the driver changed lanes and collided with 55-year-old, Los Angeles County Probation Officer, who was riding his personal motorcycle southbound on Soto Street.
The impact from the collision caused the motorcyclist to veer in a westbound direction where his motorcycle collided with the curb and ejected the motorcyclist from his motorcycle, which collided with the upright of a tri-light traffic signal.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, render aid and identify himself or herself. The motorcyclist died at scene from his injuries.
Detectives from Central Division are investigating the collision.
